Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
Don't play poker
Given that a huge majority of people lose money playing poker this is sound advice for anyone. I just chose not to follow it |

Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
The BEST poker advice given to me is DISCIPLINE, POSITION, PATIENCE, and KNOW THE MINDS,STRENGTHS,WEAKNESSES OF YOUR OPPONENTS to attack MERCILESS. With that, you are able to read hands and play THEM, not your wholecards.

Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
best advice i ever got pertaining to poker was from a lifelong pro who didnt even live within ten hours of a casino or cardroom. He had to just find games in his hometown (sending three kids to college , paying off his house and everything else whle not working a real job for more than forty years; He said,
....Anybody can be a good poker player, but it's what you do in between that counts. It's not advice on how to play better but to be smart and not start spending money like a druglord just because you are good. |

Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
Ok....I will add some content to this thread, best advice ever - 'you should not be cold calling many hands, either re-raise or fold' (or something similar to that from HEFAP) - example where it paid off - last night 20-40 live str8 forward player open raised from MP, folded to me, I reraise with AQs, folds around - flop comes all blanks - I bet he folds'......
