AKo from button
Hey guys, thanks for the comments and advice on the last hand. I've got another one here that I'd like some opinions on as to what i could have done differently. Thanks, help is always appreciated.
Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Raise the turn or river, you got a great hand!

Re: AKo from button
I seem to be missing the part that says "Hero raises". After the turn, aren't you convinced YHIG? I thought the call was a slow-play setting up a raise on the river, I personally would raise the turn bet and bet the river. What hands are likely from the CO that worry you? Just the fact that he bets into you should not be enough to slow you down.

Read this thread for a similar situation.

Great hand.
I think once you lose CO on the turn, you should probably raise the river. |

Re: AKo from button
Thanks guys. I was afraid he'd have trips or two pair.. as I often am. That seems to be one of my biggest problems, crediting my opponents as always having the hand needed to beat me. Just wanted advice on whether I should be betting/raising this hand, now I know. Btw in the particular case he did in fact have me beat with pocket 4s.

[/ QUOTE ] This is a prime example of a weak play! I have been there far too often. Read and reread SSH, and make this a thing of the past. I raise the flop here myself, and once the king spikes I either bet out or raise depending on the situation. At that point you will have a better idea of what is out against you. |

I think once you lose CO on the turn, you should probably raise the turn . [/ QUOTE ] I corrected your post. The Entity post you referred to still had that caller along for the ride. No one else to string along in this hand, start collecting extra bets/find out if you are beat/charge for the suckout. |

Re: AKo from button
Just try to explain to us but most important to yourself. Why did you not raise the turn?
(Personally I would raise the flop, the turn and the river) |

Re: AKo from button
Is it nonsensical here to assume my opponent has flopped 2 pair or trips? Is this a situation where i should be betting out no matter what?
