The turn bet is kind of questionable but you are going to call a bet anyway so I don't hate it. No this looks fine overall.

I don't like the turn bet. With 4 other opponents it's unlikely that your hand is best and because of the huge pot most are not going to fold to your turn bet.

Re: Overcards: Am I Being Too Aggressive Here?
I think your bets were good on all streets.
Pre-flop: a no-brainer must-do. Flop: position is unfortunate, but with such a ragged flop you've got to lead. Suit coordination is unfortunate, so getting called is possible. Turn: The flop calls were either overcards, a stupid low pair, or flush draws. In 2 out of 3 cases, the blank Queen helps - it's only the overcard caller who happens to have a Queen in the hole who beats you, and by betting out you'll find out quickly if it's out there (with a raise). The calls are a bummer - the table is obviously playing LP, but that doesn't make your aggression bad, IMO. The river: score. Nice hand. |

Re: Overcards: Am I Being Too Aggressive Here?
I personally don't like betting mere overcards into four opponents. Two opponents yes, maybe three with low cards on the board, but not four. Remember, overcards are nothing but a 6-out draw to one pair.

Re: Overcards: Am I Being Too Aggressive Here?
Hmmm... I don't like this situation first to act with 4 opponents in on the flop. A bet is not likely to fold many people since most will hang on to overcards, small paris and gutshots. I would have checked hoping for a late position bet so I could check-raise and thereby thinning the field. If you manage to get it HU I think you have a good chance to take it down with a turn bet even if you don't hit you A or K. This because the LP bettor could have bet the flop on a steal attempt with overcards and will now maybe fold to a turn bet.
By betting the flop (and folding noone) I guess you somehow feel obligated to bet the turn as well? I know I have that problem sometimes and it usually only gets me raised on the turn while the pot is getting pretty big forcing me to call down... |
