Fastplaying IS the new slowplaying -- Part Two
This is a second post to a table image / situation that is described in another thread found: HERE
My table image endures -- I'm the loose-aggro borderline maniac for several players at this table (although no chat comments confirming this). And now this hand comes. I still have almost no reads since I'm no more than a dozen, maybe 15 hands into the session. Comments on all streets appreciated: Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (7 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (7 players) Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds. Turn: (6 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds. River: (10 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds. Final Pot: 12 BB What other line do I take on this? |

What other line do I take on this? [/ QUOTE ] None, especially with no reads to know who will bet, and hwy they'll bet, and how they'll respond to a checkraise. You won a 12BB pot with 44. Be happy. Rob |

Check/raise the river.

Check/raise the river. [/ QUOTE ] With no reads I think betting out on the river is the best choice. If you check and it gets checked around it would be a disaster. |

Check/raise the river. Brad [/ QUOTE ] Not with the reaction you got on the turn. Who will bet it? Rob |

Re: Fastplaying IS the new slowplaying -- Part Two
IŽd play it the same.
Another possibility is to try to go for a check-raise on the flop when the A falls but as I said, IŽd play it the way you did. |

I'd probably checkraise when the ace hits. Someone is sure to bet out if you show weakness when the A comes.

Re: Fastplaying IS the new slowplaying -- Part Two
Thanks for the replies. I like the way I played it, but I strongly considered check-raising on the turn when the A fell. With no real reads on the individuals at the table I decided the check-raise was too risky -- it could conceviably get checked through or if bet in LP my C/R could drive everyone else out.
Seemed like a reasonably close call to me but I felt comfortable with the line I choose and just wanted to see if others thought a C/R was a better line. I do agree that getting raised so I can 3-bet is the better line and I will work to improve my game so I can employ this |

Re: Fastplaying IS the new slowplaying -- Part Two
I think you made the rigt play on the turn. Going for the check raise only gets 2 bets from whoever calls you or none if noone raises. Likewise raising gets 1 from everybody with the possibility of 3 from them if it is raised and you can reraise. Maybe I have read Super System one too many times but that is how I see it.
BTW can you post results? you got called down by an ace and a low kicker IMO |
