Counting pot odds while mult-tabling
I'm curious how you guys count pot odds while playing on more than one table. When you're playing more than one table, you can't sit around and count each bet as it goes around, so I find myself constantly doing math dividing the pot by the limit, and my arithmetic isn't really that quick.
Is there any special tactic that you use or have you been playing the same limit for so long that you pretty much know the math? Thanks |

I guess this seems obvious, but ... invest in a calculator?

I really think a calculator is actually slower, and will basically turn you into non thinking robot. Just something you get quicker at with practice.

having to use a calculator is pretty sad. should be easy if you learned your multiplication tables in 3rd grade.

I'm teaching HS math now and half my students don't know that 1 1/2 = 3/2, 1/2 = 0.5, etc. I'm talking about 16-17 year olds here. I think the reason it's like this is that people are given calculators to solve problems before they actually understand the fundamentals. |

6666 post count....you are evil homer!!!
Do you bust out the cards and teach them math through poker examples? That would be kinda cool. Altho Im sure the PTA or whoever would throw a little hissy fit, heh. |

I probably won't get into the gambling implications, though. |

Re: Counting pot odds while mult-tabling
Can't you just right the odds on paper, put them on a wall and count your outs. The rest is pretty easy unless you are a moron.
