JTs played awful
Tell me that $0.50-$1.00 is not the table to be playing like this.
Paradise Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, 2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks, 5 players, not bad, let's see if I can flop something. Flop: (5.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks, CO checks, Button bets, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, CO folds. Gutshot straight and a back-door flush, I guess I can pay one more small bet and see what the turn looks like. Turn: (3.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. I guess heads up with 4 outs I can take shot at the pot right now and hope he was just betting his position on the flop. River: (5.75 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. I'm sure as hell not going to win this pot showing down, I suppose I have to represent a 9 and hope he can let go. Final Pot: 7.75 BB Results in white below: Hero shows Jd Td (one pair, nines). Button shows Kc Tc (two pair, kings and nines). Outcome: Button wins 7.75 BB. Seems like I lost too many chips on a hand where I never had anything. |

Re: JTs played awful
You won't go far wrong in 0.5/1 by assuming that you cannot bluff anyone and you must show-down the best hand.

Flop's fine. Things went very sour on the turn. Check-fold there. T |

Re: JTs played awful
Check/fold the turn.
No need to bluff at these limits. No one is folding. BUT ... if you do decide to bluff here, do it as a check-raise. He is about twice as likely to fold to a c/r. Your chance of winning goes from about .01% to at least .02%. |

Re: JTs played awful
Wow!
4 responses and not 1 suggestion to raise preflop. Okay I will suggest it: Raise preflop Well its not really a suggestion actually, as I dont even thinks its up for debate at a typical table. |

Re: JTs played awful
Why would you want to raise preflop with jack high and 6 people left to act behind you who could easily pick up a hand? Even if the limper is coming in with Axo he has a better hand than you.
Anyway just give up after the flop. If you are going to bet the turn, give up on the river. He's not going to fold. |

Re: JTs played awful
Itīs way to aggressive. The hand thrive on implied odds and he will likely have to show a winner on the end.

Re: JTs played awful
I check-fold the flop. 8:1 would be a close call.
The turn bet is very fishy. Nothing has changed from the flop, if you like your hand, why dont you check-raise then ? [ QUOTE ] I guess heads up with 4 outs I can take shot at the pot right now and hope he was just betting his position on the flop. [/ QUOTE ] With a pot this small and 4 outs you will have to take it down pretty often and I dont think that you will do that. You also ended up betting the river cuz of your turn bet which makes it even worse, but really, fold on the flop. |

Re: JTs played awful
I love it. Sublime I like the way you think. It seems like every discussion on pf play ends in "raise". I don't always agree but I think you should write a book on "How to play aggressive poker before the flop". And please don't take this the wrong way...I do mean it as a compliment. I'd much rather play against someone who raises nothing but premium hands. There's nothing worse than mucking AQ or AJ pf only to see QJ or JTs take it down with TP.
I would raise JTs from a later position but I like limping here and hoping for some more opponents. |
