What I mean is, how should one play when he/she flops a monster, not that THIS hand is an example of such play, although it may in fact be.

i think you played it fine considering your position relative to the raiser...acting directly after the bettor sucks in this case because if you raise you will force everyone to call two cold...

Is Hero slowplaying this to keep UTG and CO in the pot?

Its obvious SB is in this till the end, as he probably has Hero on 8 8 8.

I think you got as much out of it as you could have: if you raise the turn, the CO probably folds (being Party though, he may have 79s and would never fold). You have to raise on the river, hoping SB has a large piece of the board or AA and will hit you back... and he did.

Well played.

I don't see a big problem with how you played this, you are in a terrible position to take advantage of a big hand so checking and hoping for overcallers might be correct.

Here is a similar hand that I had on Party $0.50/1.00 yesterday. I thought for sure I was only going to win a small pot, but I think I played it very well and thought it out.

Bison's hand converter is still broken so here is a paltry attempt:

Hero gets K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] on the button. UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, Mp2 calls, Mp3 poster checks, CO folds, Hero checks, sb calls, BB checks.

Flop (8 players, 8 sb)
[ J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ]
Holy moley! I plan on a moderate slowplay. If I'm checked to on the flop I will bet, if bet into I will just call. On the turn I'm pumping it though. Checked to Mp3 poster who bets. I call. Both blinds fold. UTG and UTG+1 both call. Mp1 folds.

Turn (5 players, 13 sb)
[T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ]
An excellent card, hopefully somebody got a flush draw or a straight draw or a fullhouse.
-It's checked to me and I bet and everybody calls.

River (5 players, 11.5 bb's)
[ 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ]
Good, the flush got there, hopefully somebody else filled up too.

UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, 2 callers and I raise, everybody but one guy calls.

Final pot 19.5 bb's. UTG+1 had A7, Mp1 had KT, MP2 had A5.

Nice play, sure would have sucked to watch someone turn over 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] at the end though!

ha, I never even noticed a str8flush was possible. In limit that is probably a good thing. No need to worry about runner runner straight flush monsters under the bed.

Exactly, I do way too much of that to myself anyway. Of course, on Party it wouldn't have surprised me (too) much.
