Default Not as many limpers as I would have liked: A6s in EP

This is a hand from some time ago that I found in my logs. No reads on the players in this hand.

TGC 1/2 10-handed. Hero is UTG+2 with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Pre-flop: UTG folds, EP1 limps, I limp, MP limps, folded to BB who checks. Four to the flop for 4.5SB:

Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Checked around

Four to the turn for 2.25BB:

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

BB checks, EP1 checks, I bet, MP calls, BB calls, EP1 folds

Three to the river for 5BB:

River: 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Checked to me, I check, MP checks

How’d I do?

the limp is fine. flop & turn are fine. I often don't know what to do on this river. I often bet, better hands might not fold, but worse hands oddly enough sometimes call.

Worse hands do sometimes call but better hands also call a lot of the time when I know they would have checked through, and I feel like an idiot. I don't know which happens more.

Let's assume typical micro calling stations.

The pot is small and my hand is poor. I'll dump my hand if I get raised/checkraised. I'd guess the chance of being swindled out of a pot this way offsets the slight chance I might steal a pot by betting.

I expect any five will call me and any nine will bet behind me (and I would call). I'd guess BB would checkraise half of the time the ten hit his hand and bet the rest. If you buy all of this the scorecard is:

Gain bet:
1. Pair of fives either hand
2. Pair of sixes either hand except A6

Lose bet:
1. 77 or 88 either hand
2. BB has pair of nines
3. Half of the time BB rivered a pair of tens
4. Half of the time BB rivered a straight.

Looks pretty close to me. Probably not an important decision.
