Aurora/Chicago
What's this area like for poker? I saw thw Hollywood Casino in Aurora with four 5/10 TH tables in a tiny little room. Apparently, the play there has picked up a lot in the last 4 months according to the emloyee there.
What are the laws in that area? Casino gambling is legal in Illinois? Chicago? Any other casinos near there? |

Re: Aurora/Chicago
Hollywood isn't a great place to play. Games are soft,
but the room is smoky and the casino isn't great. Only other choices are in E. Chicago (Harrah's) and Gary (Trump's), Indiana. Harrah's spreads 5/10, 10/20, and higher hold'em, Omaha, and 1-5 and 2-10 stud. Trump's offers 3/6, 5/10, and 10/20 hold'em and 1-5 stud. There's more stuff on the list there, but I've never seen anything else actually played, but haven't been there too many times. Regards, |

Re: Aurora/Chicago
Trump and Harrah's both have non-smoking poker rooms. Trump's is bigger and has more room around the tables. As far as hold em, I haven't seen much higher than 10-20 w/ half kill (but then I don't play on weekends anymore). Harrah's still runs a 20-40 game.

Do any of the Chicago area casinos have tournaments?
