Yahoo Mail Plus Question

Has anyone upgraded to the the Yahoo Mail Plus service? Is the extra spam filter worthwhile? I reveived 48 spam emails in less than 12 hours. It makes it difficult to ensure I am not trashing my poker and casino bonus offers. I am thinking of upgrading for $29.95 per month.

Try changeing your email address. I am on yahoo and I rarely ever get junk mail. I just recently created this email and have almost only given it out to poker sites. So the junk mail I get, I don't even consider junk.

Upgrading to Yahoo Plus (with 100 megs) was one of the best things I did with my email (though isn't that price per year?). The auto spam filters work well and add more filters you can customize.

What I really like, however, is that contrary to what they say, hand histories download perfectly into PokerTracker from my Yahoo account.

You mean $29.95 per year, not per month, right?

I upgraded to Plus a while back and think it's worthwhile. The spam filter works really well. If you're worried about losing poker-related emails, just scan your bulk email folder. If they're ending up in there, I think you can mark them not to be thrown into bulk email anymore. The POP3 email download functionality makes getting hand histories into PokerTracker very easy.

Sorry - I meant per year. Thanks for the info. I think I will upgrade. I would like to keep the same email as I have had this same email for five years.

There are a variety of free ways to deal with spam. The major reason for upgrading used to be POP3 access (although there are now free alternatives for this as well, http://yahoopops.sourceforge.net/). The only reason I see to spend the $29.95 is the added storage space. If you request hundreds of 300k hand histories a week, it will eventually be a necessity.

I use my ISP's mail, but once you upgrade your yahoo mail Id suggest using outlook, I think that is the biggest benefit (pop3). You can then edit out junk in outlook. The best foolproof way to stop junk as was stated is to change your email once a year.
