Is Party .5/1 stud the worst stud game ever?

It seems to be bingoville on the stud tables at Party .5/1 is a typical 2/4 live stud game just as stupid as Party? (Las Vegas strip or downtown)

I have played in probably fourty live venues across the country and I have never once seen 2-4 stud live. That doesn't mean someone somewhere doesn't spread it, but usually you will find the god-awful 1-5 with no ante, which is rocksville. Tight tight tight = 1-5 no ante. Horrible game. A few are now spreading 2-5 with a 50c ante, much better, probably more like party, loose.

Personally, tho I rarely have played 50c-1.00 on party, I have no problem with those small loose games. Try the 1-2 stud tho, it has the same size ante as 50c-1.00, and your opponents will be just as loose. Hell, on party even 10-20 is sometimes filled with morons.

You obviosly have never played in the Luxor in Las Vegas. Every time I go to Vegas I make it a point to jump in that little 1-5 game. Never..Ever...Ever has it been tight. ( now the Stardust game was a different story )

OK, exception to the rule. Yes, I have played in that game, and you are pretty much right. But as a general rule, 1-5 sucks major ass.

The 1-5 .25 ante 1 bring in bellagio game is kinda fun.
you need some willing players though and the rake is high.

Stud is pretty much dead in LV though. the small middle limit games are all gone cept for the mirqage 5-10 and 10-20 there is only one room that spreads mid limits bellagio 15-30 and 30-60. the rest is no ante 1-5 with high rakes and jackplot ripoffs with rakes taken in $.25 increments.

Canterbury Card Club in Minnesota spreads $2/4 stud daily. I think that early on it was the most popular game in the room.

Nope, the .5/1 stud games at Paradise are worse. With
no ante the games fill with tightwads, 4th street percentages
are in the twenties, and the pots are a fraction of what you find at Party.

Let's agree that any game with no ante sucks. But the .50-1 at party is too much the other way, with a groteseque over ante. 1-2 with the same ante is a beautiful thing. No one will believe me, but over about 200 hours in that game I'm averaging 8bb/hr (for one table, I also play 2-4 he at the same time, and my win rate there is about .5bb hr)

That ante almost rapes the solid player who knows not to play QJ 3 all off suite...........
