Default Can I beleive him?

Hello,

This is my first post, but I have read this forum for a long time.

I have a friend that tells me he is playing 3 to 4 hours a day only. He plays one table only. It is 3-6, 5 Max games at paradise.

He says he is making an average of $100 per day by playing tight aggressive. He tells me this is the perfect limit for short handed play because there are plenty of fish at that level.

He claims to be making $600-$700 per week and having the "good" life.

When i tell him I doubt him because of the high variance in short handed, he claims to easily overcome it because of the poor play.

I would like to do this, as my game is beetter than his. My experience is alot of B&M until last year. My internet play has been profitable, but I have only about 1,000 hours logged.

Can I beleive him?

Thanks for any input, I really enjoy this forum.

Believe he's making 100$ a day? Yes, why not.
Believe you can do just as well? You will found out soon enough, his winnings don't guarantee yours.
100$ a day is not a big amount if you are a good player, but I think you should try another site. Paradise has the toughest (!) of all the easy games.
Good luck to you.

highly doubtful.

but if it makes him feel good to say it, what the hell.

wait for him to go on that wonderful week(s)long losing streak. or are those the days where he 'didnt have time to play?'

worry about your own game...

$100 a day over 4 hours playing 3/6 averaging an estimated 100 hands per hour. Ok, so, he is making $25 an hour or $.25 per hand which translates to 1/24 of a BB per hand. A winning B&M player expects to make $6 in thirty hands/hr or approximately $.20 per/hand. Now, with the reduced rake, no tipping and better potential game selection, I think that it is very reasonable to believe that your friend is making what he claims.

Yea - thats in the realm of possibility. Maybe not long term (years) but over a few months it's certainly possible.

1 table for 3-4 hours a day 100 bucks ..dont think so.
If he was a great short handed player and he averaged 3-4 bigbets an hour thats still only $18-$24 per hour.Is he a great player averaging 4 bets an hour..then maybe he can do it.
I think your friend is streching the truth a wee bit.
If he said he played 2 tables for 4 hours a day..he could average just over 2 bigbets an hour ...thats more beleivable.Ask him how many hours he has played..anything can happen over 100-200 hours... he may be good but just running real real good.In that case he's gonna get smoked for 100-150 bets at any moment.
