Omaha 8/b tournament
What adjustments should I make vs ring play?
Also, how far off strategy wise would it be to play it as if it was just omaha hi? Thanks in advance |

Re: Omaha 8/b tournament
When I lived in the SF area, I had a friend who would only play hi hands in O/8 - and he had a fair amount of success. Just remember to only play PREMIUM hands and you should be ok.

Re: Omaha 8/b tournament
depends completely on how tight the rest of the table is playing, and how they react to a raise. generally it is harder to steal the blinds than in a hold 'em tournament, but sometimes you will see the rest of the table go into a shell, in which case it is time to base your plays on the gap concept.
early in the tournament, the game is so loose you shouldn't adjust at all, except that you should expect the players to be more aggressive. the main idea here is not to get caught in a raising war without a lock or a strong draw to it. late in the tournament when most of the time it should be uncontested or heads up before the flop, playing like it is omaha high is not that bad. one underrated concept here is the value of additional low cards with a low hand. since an AT92 will get counterfeited often, it is vastly inferior to something like an A268. |
