Default Kill Pot

I'm UTG in a 3-6 kill game and the kill has been posted on my left. I draw AKo and raise. Everyone folds. In previous hands 5-6 came into the kill pot, but no one raised. I hadn't played a hand for awhile and the table had turned over about two rounds ago. Should I have called?

Calling would be a bad play. I don't like to let other hands catch against AK, so I raise in that spot. Now that you have mixed in the kill, A raise is an even better play because you will either pick up the pot or thin the field to a managable 2-3 players. Raise away and be happy you won the money. That's the object of the game.

Raise.

By the way, winning 3 1/3 SBs ($10) with AKo is not a bad thing.

Actually I won nine because the SB is dropped immediately, but your point is valid.
