Let me know how I could have played this differently and what obvious errors you see in this hand....I was in the BB and dealt the KQ o/s

Thanks

Default you wont get any responses

Please take the time to post the hand. I think most of the posters will find it difficult to read it in the way you posted it.

ok, let's see if I can do this....

Typical game....I am in the BB and was dealt the KQ offsuit.

Preflop:
EP Player limps in ....2 Mp players limp in....button calls ...i check with the KQ.....I am thinking raising here against 4 limpers is not a agood play with KQ

Flop comes T - 4 - 6 Rainbow......I decide to check ...one of these 4 limpers probably has a pair also I am not sure if leading out with 2 overcards against 4 opponents is a good play (in hindsight maybe i should have bet here?) ......flop goes check all round....nobody limped in with a pocket pair?

Turn brings the 9 of daimonds.....setting up the flush draw.

I come out betting.....hoping to get a play from the flush draw and maybe somebody picked up a straight draw....since i picked up a gutshot to the nut straight with two overcards...i probably have 8 outs here (10 if no one has pocket daimonds). The EP limper calls as well as one of the MP players.....(no raise....so far so good)......(In hindsight....should I have checked it again hoping an agressive player will now bet a draw or a pocket pair so I can raise as a semi bluff...??)

River brings the J of daimonds....putting the flush on the board and giving me the nut str8......I come out betting...this was probably a dumb move?...got raised...knew the flush was out but called anyway for the small chance that the rasier might have made a lower str8.

I think I made a lot of debateable plays... and would like to know how you all would have played it.

Play seems fine. he picked up the draw on the turn so wasn't folding to your semibluff so there is little else you can do. I'd probably 3-bet the river though.

According to HEPFAP...

"Overcards frequently should be bet, (on the flop) especially if you have back door flush potential, unless you think a reasonable chance exists that if you catch your card, you still won't win."

You had two overcards with a back door straight possibility. A bet on the flop "might have" knocked the diamond flush out since only one diamond hit, and his king has a very weak kicker.

You played it fine. Things like this just happen sometimes. I probably would have played it the way you did, or if the raiser was very loose (if this was one of those crazy LL games) I might even consider popping it one more time.

Default thats better

Anksa,

You might want to check call the river if you put someone on the backdoor flush draw. I also would have bet the river in that spot. I also might have bet the flop.

I think you played the hand ok. Dont let the results sway your way of thinking.
