Line check - hand 3
Another one... Villain is has tagish preflop stats (25/10 or something). I was hoping to pick up his cont. bet by checking. Just call and lead the turn?

Re: Line check - hand 3
Leading the flop is my standard play. He folds many times but longterm you will play bigger pots.

Re: Line check - hand 3
The board is very dry. On sucha drfy board I would not checkraise the flop. If there were any draws at all, I would. But in this case I'll wait. Maybe even until the river, but thew turn usually brings something that gives someone hope, so i usually checkraise the turn.

Re: Line check - hand 3
with this kind of board i like to lead the flop, then check-raise the turn. check-raising the flop shows too much strength and could let him get away.

Re: Line check - hand 3
I agree that check raising the flop allows him to get away from his hand to easily. But against and aggressive player, what is wrong with check calling the flop, then check raising the turn?

Re: Line check - hand 3
Hat-
So, if we lead the flop and then check the turn, villain is more likely to bet, as opposed to if we just called the flop? Is the idea, to induce a bluff by making it look like we are trying to steal on a ragged flop? Thanks for clarifying. Ness |

Re: Line check - hand 3
As posters mentioned, leading is better. This board does have a couple of clubs, so I make it $16 or $20 to go after having c/r.
