Bet the turn and fold to his raise there.

Meh. I don't mind the turn check. I will do this sometimes with a flush hitting and an over and the OESD. But I think you have to check the river if you check the turn and call something small, fold to more than 1/2 pot. 7's a bad card coupled with that turn J. TJ is there now and 89. 7x has got you, and of course the flush. TP out of the blinds, you gave it a shot on the flop, now don't lose much more with it.

If you were on the flush draw do you check the turn? If that's what you are trying to indicate I can see the logic of it. I just like to see if villain has the flush now before I get trips on the river.

By checking the turn, if the 4th [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] hits the river all your action is dead and/or you are in check/fold territory. I'd rather get the bet in on the turn (and fold to a raise). I agree that if my turn bet is called that a c/c a reasonable bet on the river makes sense.

I think our posts just reflect a slight difference in style rather than a huge difference in philosophy.......but I have been known to be wrong in the past

The thing with that turn card is that it doesn't help us but it has the potential to help the villian who just called us on the flop. 89 just got there. The flush just got there. And JT just zoomed past us. All logical villian hands. I'm perfectly willing to give up on the hand right there (reads would be helpful, of course). Yeah, sometimes I fold the better hand. But, TP out of the blinds in limped pots is a money loser at full ring IMO (if you don't take it down with a flop bet).

After I check the turn, there's no reason to bet the river, as now 7x just improved as well, another potential villian holding. Give it a shot on the flop and then dump it given turn and river cards.

I think this may just be one of the differences between 6-max and full ring.

I tend to fire a bullet (most of the time) to see if villain flinches, but I can see where this could be a bigger problem (leak?) OOP in full ring. It's also a problem in 6-max, of course. I think the correct answer lies with what villain's probable holding is and what/if he was chasing.
