Poker Drill Master
I downloaded the trial and am trying to figure out how to answer the questions regarding pot equity. For example, if you have AKo and 4 opponents and the board is 2d-2h-Tc-7s, the pot has $63 and it is $6 to you with 2 players still to act, what is your chance of winning the hand?
I figure the final pot (minus your $6) will be at least $69 (one more caller on the turn) and no bets on the river if an A or K falls (I wouldn't bet my pair with the possibility of someone trying for a check-raise with trips). I would also think that some of your outs have to be discounted because someone might be playing AT, A7, KT, K7 (not to mention the possibility of drawing dead if someone has trips). So, you have maybe 4 outs. Chance of winning: 8.7% or 10.5:1 Pot odds: 8.7% or 10.5:1 Therefore, both calling and folding are valid- I would lean toward folding since 2 players are still to act. However, the software gave a pot equity of 13.64% which would indicate a call. Is it (the software) just not discounting outs (i.e. giving the AKo hand all 6 outs)? Am I thinking about the hand wrong? |
