I had played another hand with the villan where I raised utg+ 1 with 88 and he reraised in the co with A J Off. The cold call from "crassg" on the flop scared me but now that he folds the turn do you think Im ahead? Any other comments ? Thanks in advance

You are losing to AA, KK, AK, JJ (maybe KJ). But if villain has strong card, his play is quite tricky. Think he can call you with AQ, AJ, AT and even small PP. I sure will bet river.
My only question is why c/r better than bet? On the other side it help switching off caller and defend from villain's "auto-raise".

I like it. You can be sure 3 better will auto bet the flop and you can then face the other guy with 2 cold. Check raising also helps define your hand by seeing if he 3 bets. If you bet and he raises then you should probably 3 bet and that opens you up to an expensive cap.

On the river I'd bet cos it looks like he's got a pair lower than you that he'll check behind if you check. If he raises you then we've got a tough decision, but I think you'd have to call down
