Reads: Button is a shortstacked muppet. SB seems a bit of a calling station. Button has $22, Hero $240, SB covers me barely.

This is ugly. All possible draws got there on the turn- what range of hands do you put villan on? Is it possible that he has 1010/JJ? Would he slowplay his set? Alternately, would he call your flop bet with AK, looking for a gutshot? I'm fairly sure he would call with a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] draw. Would he play AQ this way?
I'm torn between checking behind and betting. You don't want to give a free [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] draw a free look on the river, but you also don't want to be c/r-ed big. Checking allows you to fill up cheaper, and avoiding the c/r. I think betting is best. We are ahead of villan's current holdings (which IMO, include JJ-AA/AQ/AK[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I suppose/maybe even something like 67[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] if hes really loose. I think maybe I need a few more reads before I can put a hand range on villan.

Earlier, when we were 4-handed, he minraised KK from the button preflop....that's really the only thing I remember about him that stood out. I'd think if he held AA/KK he would have done what I did, raise to put Button all-in. So I didn't consider him having those two hands while at the table.

Ok. Villain has 169 left and pot is 177. If you check behind, are you folding to a push on a non-pairing river? If we stick it in here, wont he fold all the hands we are beating and call with those that we arent. Either bet half pot, call push (which suchs when he calls, river puts 4 to a flush/str8) out there, or check behind. NOW, if we check behind, I think the river becomes pretty tough. Fold to a PSB? Call 1/2 pot? 2/3 pot? UGH, tough spot. Reads? Check behind and see what he does on river is my final answer, but I hate it.

Mmm, interesting hand. Given your read on the SB as a bit of a calling station, I stick it all in here. You've got a ton of outs even if he has a made flush, and you don't want a 9 or K or club to kill your hand/action on the river.

With two calls on the flop, it's very likely someone is drawing. That turn card is the card of all cards. So it looks like you're behind here. Even if you're ahead, there are few hands that will call a significant bet. I like checking here, hoping to get that free river to fill up. Even if you don't fill up, you still have some showdown value and can pick off a possible bluff. Go passive and try for a cheap showdown. Implied odds will tell if you can call a bet.

He's not getting away from a set except on a club river. He's not getting away from a straight or a flush if you fill up. You might get more value from a hand like AQ, KQ or AJ if you check behind, but these hands might have as much as 14 outs against you (K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q), and might not pay off a river blank anyway. If he somehow has AA or KK you might be letting him off easy, but you said that was unlikely, and also he might have a club. I stick it in here and hope he has JJ.
