SSHE ED MILLER
im reading that now ... but it talks about loose games with people playing too many hands ... what if you were at a table full of tight players ... ( an unusual setting for a 2-4 game) would there approach still work

Re: SSHE ED MILLER
i asked about tight books the other day.... suggestions were hellmuth (even though book is maligned) and ciaffone (mid limit poker). i also like matt maroon and it's really cheap (at least here in canada).
i just joined party (always been on obscure sites; soft games, very poor selection) and i am shocked at how tight the 2/4 full table is. it's basically a complete waste of time so far (doubt you could beat the rake long-term without bonus/rakeback). |

Re: SSHE ED MILLER
Party 2-4 is rediculously soft, and easily beatable. Once you believe this and start examining your game for real, you should be able to win at a substantial clip pre-bonus/rakeback.

( an unusual setting for a 2-4 game) would there approach still work [/ QUOTE ] SSHE addresses what you need to know. Study it, I mean study it, and reinforce it with play. If you understand the concepts presented there you can adjust to tight games. Especially what you are describing as not the norm. I play practically all live play. 5/10 , 10/20. They are usually loose, ESPECIALLY the 5-10, but at times they can go tight like you wouldnt' believe. Sometimes for a couple of hours. I have to drive an hour to casino so I don't jump up and leave. Plus, you can make money in these games too. Just be patient. I don 't have rote memorization of tables and I have studied that book for untold hours. Drop speculative hands and small pairs up front, may close attnention of who is coming in pot with you (always important, but differences can be smaller in a tight game I have found). I am not advising not to read other books. I am constantly. Have read TOP cover to cover 2x and use for reference.(along with ALL of 2+2's books). But for day in day out, games running tight or loose, SSHE retains it's place of honor on the back of my " john ". Peace Out |
