Stud8 - Day 2, Hand 10
Yes, they keep coming. Thanks for all the responses I've received so far. Maybe after a few dozen baby steps I'll feel like I've actually learned something.
After all the jamming on 3rd, I didn't know what to do. All I see is a live gutshot to half the pot on 5th. It's a big pot, but I don't know if chasing this can lead to anything good. 7 Card Stud High-Low ($0.25/$0.50), Ante $0.05, Bring-In $0.10 (converter) 3rd Street - (1.40 SB) Seat 1: xx xx 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 2: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___folds Seat 3: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___calls___calls___calls Hero: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls___calls___calls Seat 6: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___calls___raises Seat 7: xx xx 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___folds Seat 8: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___raises___calls 4th Street - (9.80 SB) Seat 3: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___checks___calls Hero: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___checks___calls Seat 6: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___bets Seat 8: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls 5th Street - (6.90 BB) Seat 3: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___checks___folds Hero: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___checks___folds Seat 6: xx xx A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___bets Seat 8: xx xx 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]___folds Total pot: (6.90 BB) |

[/ QUOTE ] Hero limped, Seat 6 completed and then the 8 reraised. I think a call is very marginal in this situation, although not terrible if you are a good hand reader and your opponents are easily manipulated. |

Fold 3rd when it's two back to you. [/ QUOTE ] And since you didn't, 4th is absolutely 100% a fold. |

Fold 3rd when it's two back to you. [/ QUOTE ] Everyone is misreading the action. I'm in seat 5. I limped, seat 6 limped, and seat 8 completed. It was called around again to me, I called, and seat 6 raised as his second action. |

Re: Stud8 - Day 2, Hand 10
I think you can call this down once you get to 5th street and you're heads up. Just barely though, and maybe my math is off. But you're entitled to ~30% of the pot. If you both put in 3BBs each the final pot is 13BBs, of which your share is 30% of 13BB or ~4BBs, which is slightly more then the 3BBs it costs to call him down.

Re: Stud8 - Day 2, Hand 10
Calling along on third is fine. If it had been $.40 to you, you should get away from it, especially with all of those straight cards gone, but you got roped in on the installment plan. Fourth is a fold.
