Default Questionable river value bet?

15/30 at Hollywood Park.

This game is getting a little crazy at times, plenty of raising w/ non-premium hands from all sorts of positions, including the blinds and utg. It's probably about 8-handed.

PREFLOP: UTG raises. He's not one of the wildest players in the game but he could easily have AT or A8s or something like that, maybe 55 or something, but definitely doesnt need to have a premium hand. I'm in MP w/ JJ, i 3-bet. folds to BB who hasnt done much so far besides call, who calls, original raiser calls.

FLOP: K-T-Tr

check to me, I bet, BB folds, utg calls.

Turn K-T-T-K

He checks. I think there's still a fairly good chance i have the best hand, but this guy is definitely capable of check-raising here w/ just A-high and i dont want to have to figure out if he was trapping or making a move. I check with the intention of calling almost any river, probably any non-ace.

River K-T-T-K-6

He checks. I bet. If he had been trapping i'm pretty sure he wouldnt have tried for the check raise again on the river.

How did i do? Obviously, i'm most concerned with the turn check and the river value bet. Thanks.

It's ok. River is an easy bet after the checking the turn. I would go ahead and bet the turn because you are now getting called down by any Ace (figuring on a split pot).

If i knew i was getting called down by an ace i'd have bet the turn, but i've seen this guy get tricky, as i mentioned in the original post, so i knew he was capable of check-raising the turn w/ just A-high. If you know he's capable of making that play, then what?

Since you apparently want to keep your variance minimized then checking the turn is your best play. However I believe that in the long run it's to your advantage to bet the turn (and call your opponent down if he check-raises) against this type of opponent.
