Default My heart was in the right place...

But my head f**ked it up. It's $25 nl 6-max folks and the villian had been a rampant continuation bettor and preflop raiser in the 60 hands I'd played against him. Well I guess I should be check-raising the flop here? And if not, what should I be doing? I'm Harmonica

Seat 1: Harmon!ca ($69.12 in chips) small blind
Seat 2: Elwiz ($38.01 in chips) big blind
Seat 3: Peterlll ($33.85 in chips)
Seat 4: bearing1 ($19.34 in chips) he's the cb'ing villian.
Seat 5: V_Vegas ($25 in chips) posts blind 25c
Seat 6: adriano77 ($5 in chips)

----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to Harmon!ca [3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]]
Peterlll: calls $0.25
bearing1: raises to $1.25
V_Vegas: folds
Harmon!ca: calls $1.10
Elwiz: folds
Peterlll: calls $1
----- FLOP ----- [6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Harmon!ca: checks
Peterlll: checks
bearing1: bets $4.25
Harmon!ca: calls $4.25
Peterlll: folds

(I contemplated a check-raise since I thought he was on overs with his 18% pfr)
----- TURN ----- [6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img][9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Harmon!ca: checks
bearing1: bets $6.50
Harmon!ca: raises to $63.62 and is all-in
bearing1: is all-in $7.34
Returned uncalled bets $49.78 to Harmon!ca

Ok, here I made him pot comitted, so a push on the turn would be better I presume?

River is a blank, I'll post his hand later.

Check/fold flop.

Did you post the right hand?

Or if you don't like that, be the aggressor preflop

You don't think I'm ahead most of the time here against a player raising 20% of his hands? I know I played it badly on the flop and turn, but is a flop check-raise really so bad? I don't get it, if i check-fold here all the time he'll be taking pots constanly with jack high and the like.

If you're gonna play 33(edit - for other than set value), then either raise pre-flop and pot any non-broadway flop or make a huge check-raise on the flop. However, this type of play works much better if 1) you have position 2) you are HU, 3) you have a good read on villain and 4) you are playing at NL $100 or higher.
