($16) What to do with 12 BB?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (7 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
MP2 (t1795) CO (t680) Button (t3560) SB (t1985) BB (t1365) UTG (t2940) Hero (t1175) Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero...? The only really loose player is the CO; most of the rest are slightly loose. This is a situation I'm having trouble with. Limping seems weak, as does folding. But I feel like a any raise leaves me too short-stacked to do anything but check-fold or push the flop, and since there's usually at least one over card, that's a tricky scenario. I don't have much trouble pushing this from the button or CO, but pushing from EP isn't too enticing. So I guess the question is twofold... 1) What do you do here? What about smaller pairs? I can fold 66 on down, but 77-99 seem ambiguous. & 2) What do you open-push here? I'm thinking AQ+, TT+. |

I openpush nothing here.
I limp middle pairs, if I'm raised I most likely fold. But a read on the raiser might change that. Maybe thats weak, but 99 isn't a monster. |

[ QUOTE ]
I openpush nothing here. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I probably misspoke there. I'd standard raise AA-QQ, but I would push AK/AQ to see all five cards, maybe JJ & TT, because weaker aces and smaller pairs will call a lot. [ QUOTE ] Raise to 300. [/ QUOTE ] That's a lazy answer, and also my first thought. But then what? Say you get one caller on the button. A flop of AKJ or 742 is easy enough, but what about Q85? Or K76? Do you want to push there and take the chance? Or leave yourself with soon-to-be <6 BB otherwise? |
