Default Semi-bluff turn, facing river raise.

So I just had what I think is my worst session ever - most of it, I believe, due to being card dead. I'm including some PT images, perhaps someone can either spot something grossly wrong, or even not.

I found this hand, however, looking back:

Playing four handed, folded to me in the SB and I limp with 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] BB raises, I call.

Flop is Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check-call

Turn is a 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], I check-raise and the BB calls.

River is a 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ...

I bet -- I think I'll get called by ace-high, but not raised unless I'm definitely beat.

BB raises...

How much of this is spewing?

I don't like this unless you have some pretty solid reads. As for the river, I would check to induce a bluff. Basically you are trying to get value out of A highs here, which will often bluff anyways if you check. Also, plenty of hands such as someone with a PP, an 8, or 7 might check behind if you check.

I don't think ace-high bets after the turn check-raise, but I could be wrong.

It's perfectly within the realms of variance. But you are making a mistake by caring about it. 300 hands is so incredibly silly to worry about.

I'm posting a limerick but in your defense you did post a hand. So it's not a real LC thread. I think you played the hand okay. I like a check to induce a bluff on the river.

Thanks.

I'm relatively new to shorthanded play, so the swings have been intense -- both the ups and downs -- and I'm having trouble adjusting.

That's fine, though I thought the number was extremely large. So I'm wrong, gotcha.

I really can't see ace-high betting but you're the second to say check the river so I'll buy it. I wasn't really unhappy with the hand, but it was a little startling to see the biggest single-hand loss come from 34s.

Ace high generally won't bet it. It won't always call a bet either.

I would fold PF unless BB is very passive. The flop I would just bet or maybe checkraise if you think that might be effective. I really dislike your turn c/r and think it's spewing. On the river I'm sort of disoriented because of how you played this but I think the best option might be check/fold.

Thanks for all the responses. I folded but he showed anyway -- A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and I was frustrated, feeling like the play would work if not for the turn spade...
