Default Best Setup for a $10 buy-in cash game

Hey everyone. I'm seeking some advice for a $10 buy-in home cash game that I've been playing in. We've been using a starting chip setup of four 25 cent chips, six 50 cent chips, and 6 dollar chips with a single 25 cent blind. Preflop raises are often as much as $3 with a lot of callers, and the action goes really fast. Although the buy in is low, rebuys are very frequent and before long a lot of money is in play. I'd like to reform the starting chips and/or blind(s) to slow down the action a bit but not make it completely boring. Am I playing in an unusually fast game or is there a better way to set this up?

PS. We've also tried starting with 10 nickels, 10 quarters, and 7 dollars with 10 and 20 cent blinds, and that worked pretty well, but I'd still like to hear what you all have to say. Thanks.
