What was your thinking behind the flop raise? [/ QUOTE ] Short stack may be leading into me with a wide range of hands, most likely a pair but often times some type of draw. I'm trying to thin the field/buy outs to give myself a better chance to win the pot. I have some backdoor draws and two overs and sometimes I'll even have the best hand. If I kick out button I win position and I may buy myself a free card |

Re: I suck? - Live 20/40
I think the flop raise is kind of silly. The pot is too big, I don't think you're getting many people to fold here. Especially if they have a pair.
I don't play live so it's hard for me to weight live tells properly. But online I'm raising this turn every single time, especially on this very drawy board. |

Button has lots of chips in hand [/ QUOTE ] If you had a read on the Button for being experienced this is probally a tell that he doesnt want you to raise him so he can draw to his hand. |

What was your thinking behind the flop raise? [/ QUOTE ] For me its - 1 - I still might have the best hand here. 2 - I sometimes have to play overs like I have a big hand. 3 - If the button folds and leader just calls, it's 50-50 on whether I take the free card or bet. 4 - If the button calls 2 cold he's almost certain to be on a draw. Why is he coldcalling the flop and not raising the turn? I figure the river is a "win 1 lose 2 bets situation". I have to win 1 bet 3 times to show a profit for every 1 time I call a raise and lose. I'm comfortable bet/folding with hands I don't want to show down, but hate paying off with top 2. I want to show it down and don't mind ch/c here. |

2 - I sometimes have to play overs like I have a big hand. [/ QUOTE ] This is not true, especially not in multiway pots. |

[/ QUOTE ] You are right, for some reason I just thought he was truly preparing to raise me, but I was tricked |
