Take a free card, otherwise it looks solid

I think it's very unlikely he's betting into the pf raiser on the flop and folding the turn. He's just as likely to checkraise you. Take the free card.

*grunch*
Since he posted preflop, CO have a wide range of hands but given that he called your preflop raise and then bet into you he probably hit the flop. Probably just call here and then call down if no heart comes or raise if it does.

Without a read, I take the free card. Pretty good chance that CO donked into us with a good but not great made hand.

what hands did you think he bet/called the flop with that he would fold to a turn bet?

a bluff. I have seen some people try the donk bet on the flop and then they feel obliged to call the flop raise but will fold UI on the turn.

edit. I wonder what hand he had since he folded the river and not the turn.

How bout 8x and jx? The only reason I have for checking behind on the turn is if we are against a LAG or a thinking player who will bet/call the river with middle pair when we check the turn.

I think you misread the hand. If he has 8x or Jx we definitely want the free card on the turn.
