Default I\'m sure many would have called this turn checkraise, but . . .

. . . Would anybody, like me, fold?

Cryptologic site $3-6. 5-handed. no reads.

Hero is MP 1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

<font color="red">Hero</font> raises, CO folds, button calls, SB calls <font color="blue">villain</font> (BB) raises, hero calls, button calls, SB calls.

Flop (4 players, 12sb)
:6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

Everybody checks

Turn K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

SB checks, <font color="blue">villain</font> checks, <font color="red">hero</font> bets, button folds, <font color="blue">villain</font> raises, <font color="red">hero</font> folds

Thoughts please

I call this all day long.

I think you need to put him exactly on AK/KK to make this fold.

Yep - I'm sure many would agree with you, and in hindsight calling is almost certainly correct.

But the villain's betting pattern is very mysterious. If he had 10/10 - Q-Q a checkraise on the turn seems a very odd action to me.

At the time I put him on AK and folded, but from a mathematical point of view, the fact I have one K, and there is a K on the board, makes this more unlikely than it would usually be

stop putting people on exactly one hand. they always always always have a range. make your decisions against their range, not your hunch.

that and you are getting 9-1 with 3 outs to improve against AK. add in the times you are crushing TT-QQ/AQ, have 5 outs against AA, and you gotta call.

Callllllll its headsup, and after the flop gets checked thru I don't see villain trying to c/r with AK here, he'd probably just bet out. Of course bad players do weird things so who knows, but in general I mean. He 3bet preflop and sees that it is headsup when it gets back around to him on the turn, so he can c/r representing AK. Maybe this isnt the situation everytime, or even most of the time, but for SURE enough of the time to call down.

You only have 2 outs against AA. A jack is no good because of the pair on board.
