I can't reply to the old post. I'm not sure why. But it brought up can two +EVs add up to be negative. I was in the shower, when randomly I came to the realization that I think it can. Suppose we take the case of just playing AA. We don't earn a lot, because we aren't going to get a lot of action. Now we add 23o. We will probably make more as now our 23o will get the same respect as our aces. Now suppose we add a whole bunch of barely above neutral EV hands. We add 78s T9s JTs QTs. What has this done? Now our AA will certainly make more, while these hands are at par. Unfortunately our 23o will be so negative it does not compensate for the additional margin we earn with AA. Thoughts?
