Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 7 folds, Hero checks. Flop: (2.40 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets, UTG+1 calls. Turn: (2.20 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) No read on villain. What's my turn line? I'm not crazy about checking, but I'm not crazy about bet/calling either. I'm not crazy about bet/folding. Basically I hate all my options. |

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
I'd just bet again and hope villain folds. I hate check/folding and check/calling. If we get raised then we probably have enough to call.

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
I think check/calling is the way to go with the intention of donking a diamon/straight river. If the river is a 9 I guess I bet/fold, bet/call a 4, and bet/fold a diamond (I'm unsure about this). Either way I don't like your turn choices either.

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
I would quickly decide whether to bet or check and then go with that decision.
I can't think of much in the way of hands (if I were UTG+1) that I would have called with on the flop that I'd fold now, but Villain isn't me. Maybe he'll dump 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or something. (And I guess I might've played that way with a diamondless 66, actually.) If I checked, I would call a bet. If I bet and got raised, I would probably call but would hate doing it. |

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
The pot is so small that I'm wondering if I even have odds to call a bet if I check. He would be offering me 3.2:1, and if I don't have the best hand, I have 6 straight outs that don't put a 4-flush out, and 9 flush outs that give me a 6-high flush. Plus, do I have any implied odds? Will he call a river bet if a 4th diamond appears? If a diamond comes, I may have to bet/fold, giving me bad reverse-implied odds.
The more I think about this hand, as weak as it sounds, check-folding the turn could be correct. That's not what I did, though. |

You should scream "Its my Birthday, bitch" and bet. Happy birthday.

For that crappy little pot, I check-fold.

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
Pot is small enough that I don't hate c/f here.
b/f is an option if you think he might fold, but sets you up to get played-back at more often in the future. I think reverse implied odds kill your EV on c/c. I'm not crazy about getting called and having to deal with the river either. |

Re: Quick turn decision heads up with OESD and weak flush draw
In a vacuum, probably check/fold this, unless UTG+1 is passive and I think there's reasonable fold equity. The pot is small, and some of your outs could give your opponent a better hand. (This is one of those cases where you might even hope that you don't hit your outs because then you might lose a lot more!)
