Adjustments from 6 handed to 4 and 3 handed
Im primarily a full ring player, but now feel comfortable in 5 or 6 player game.
However, I still feel a little lost when number go down to 4 and 3 players. When its 4 player, how do you play CO and button differently from when you are CO and button in a 6 handed game? Loosen up? As above but for the small blind, how should I adjust? What kind of hands that I would fold to a CO raise in a 6 max game now become a 3 betting hand, I know this is player dependant, but any rough guidelines would help. If Im a 23vpip 15pfr player in a 6 max game, what would you estimate my vpip pfr figure to be in a 4 handed and 3 handed game, Literally any tips at all on 3 and 4 haned play would be much appreciated, Are there any articles written purely on this? Re: Adjustments from 6 handed to 4 and 3 handed
4-3 handed is difficult, but fun. its steal and defend. and that's it. you don't need to play looser in the co or button then in a 5-6 table.
The smallblind you should loosen up if you think that your oppontent steal more than what they do in 5-6 games, otherwise no. As wich hand this is, it's hard to say, it depends on thier stealing frequentsy. I'm not so used to 3-4 handed either, but my vpip is 33 at 4handed and 45 at 3handed (extreamly low samplezis thou) there are no articles that i know, but read steal- and defendposts that is what it's all about |

King Yao's book, Weighing the Odds, talks about this a bit. I think it's worth reading.
