Default Poker bots....I know I know.....

Sorry about this. Does anyone know of a pokerbot, other than Winholdem that actually works? I know none of them really make money, I'm not interested in running one either. I'd simply like to know if anyone has any experience running them. Are there any serious threats out there?

There are university researchers who are dedicated to a poker bot. I believe their bot is being used in the stacked game.

I guess this is the only honourable poker bot around.

I don't know one that actually works, including Winholdem.

The only way I would consider a poker bot a "serious threat" is if it was being run by the site and working with knowledge of all hands dealt.

And I think it would be reasonably easy to spot and I don't see why the sites would risk being blacklisted among online players. They make a killing as it is, why mess with it?

Short stacked strategy NL bots (ala Ed Miller GSIH) have been written and shown to be profitable. It was a highly respected poster who stated this fact, although I forget who -- Possibly Ed himself or perahps El. D.

I'm sure small buy-in STT bots are also theoritically easy to write. I though saabpo was a spoof (I really have no idea though), but the theory was bang on.

Anyone who writes a decent, working bot is not going to be advertising the fact.
