donkey punch
***** Hand History for Game 2911726114 *****
$600 NL Texas Hold'em - Friday, October 21, 22:20:57 EDT 2005 Table Table 71075 (6 max) (Real Money) Seat 2 is the button Total number of players : 6 Seat 1: BadBean ( $576.84 ) Seat 2: zsbob9 ( $1070.43 ) Seat 3: jjackal ( $979.60 ) Seat 5: Saint_99 ( $633.80 ) Seat 6: emchizzle ( $254.62 ) Seat 4: RavenQ ( $600 ) jjackal posts small blind [$3]. RavenQ posts big blind [$6]. ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to jjackal [ Jh Ah ] Saint_99 calls [$6]. emchizzle folds. BadBean folds. zsbob9 calls [$6]. jjackal calls [$3]. RavenQ checks. ** Dealing Flop ** [ 9s, 8h, Qh ] jjackal checks. RavenQ checks. Saint_99 bets [$35]. zsbob9 raises [$125]. jjackal goes all-in. Saint_99 is an uncreative, loose/passive calling station(VPIP60/PFR4)who I know wasn't betting the pot with anything less than TPTK. zsbob9 (VPIP36/PFR19)is a winning LAG who I had been constantly sparring with since I sat down. His raise indicates he has at least 2 pair, if not a flopped straight. However I know he doesn't have a set, because he would've raised preflop with any of the pocket pairs that the flop hit. Also, he would not have raised with a drawing hand, knowing full well the fish was not one to be bluffed. So with all things considered, is this a terrible play or only a marginally bad play? |

Re: donkey punch
You're sticking your whole stack into the middle with the worst of it. You're getting a good price for your draw, why not take it and see what happens on the turn. Could be transparent and maybe you won't get as paid off, but if somebody has the s8 or set, you probably will anyways.

Re: donkey punch
I like your raise on the flop but I don't think I would have gone all in at that moment. I would like to see another card and evaluate the situation after that. However, you have a very strong draw and if you are behind it isn't by much. You could also call the flop bet and then donk the turn to try to see a cheaper river card if you didnt already hit on the turn.

Re: donkey punch
With no fold equity from one I hate it.
If you have good fold equity, it's not terrible, but not overly great. Any possibility you're called by both? If there's a reasonable chance they will both fold or both call, then I can see defending this as a good play. I think you've got great equity to make this move if they'll both come in after you, especially if the moron is on say KQ and the other guy's on a straight. Your gutter would chop, and the flush is bonus. - C - |

Re: donkey punch
Why push the calling station out? You need help to win a pot. Flat call and let him stick around for the ride, and hope the heart comes.

Re: donkey punch
igetgreens is all-In.
RavenQ folds. Saint_99 is all-In. zsbob9 calls [$848.60]. ** Dealing Turn ** [ 3d ] ** Dealing River ** [ 7c ] zsbob9 shows [ Js, Tc ] a straight, eight to queen. jjackal doesn't show [ Jh, Ah ] high card ace. Saint_99 doesn't show [ 8c, 8s ] three of a kind, eights. zsbob9 wins $691.60 from side pot #1 with a straight, eight to queen. zsbob9 wins $1904.40 from the main pot with a straight, eight to queen. I got 2 callers, an didn't fill up. I was getting 28.6%, while the other 2 had 35.7%. |
