Default JJ Hand

BB is a total fish. UTG and UTG+2 average. No real reads on them. I'd put then as TA-N at best.

Party Poker 2.00/4.00 Hold'em (10 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Flop: (16.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: (10.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 folds.

River: (13.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)

Final Pot: 13.25 BB.

I think you missed a value bet on the river. Everything else is standard.

I'm gonna give this a bumb for the weekday crowd. Maybe it's a boring hand, but with a guy that will chase with any piece, a non-aggressive calling down, a paired river, an overcard, and a flush draw hitting on the turn. I was sweating this out. And yes the river is what I'm most interested in although I semi-questioned every street as I was playing.

agreed that it is a dangerous board. however, other than preflop raises, no one has shown any inclination to bet, so I can't put them on a hand that beats you on the river (I can't see flush checking turn and river) and if they had either TT or AT (two hands that are possible from preflop play), I think they would have bet before river as well. I would value bet river.

I think the river makes it a really thin value bet, if any. I check.

What are they calling down with? Maybe a T, maybe a K, maybe a gutshot, maybe a pocket pair, maybe a flush draw. 3 of those beat you, a gutshot won't call a river bet. I think the times you bet and are called by a passively played K or are rasied by a tricky T outweigh the times you bet and get value from 2 pocket pairs or a pocket pair and a gutshot. Maybe this is too weak though

I agree with most of this. There are many draws calling the turn, none of them got there but they're still not paying off a bet. Other than that I can't see many hands going to the river that doesn't beat you. Check.

Well, I hate doing this everytime I do it, but I throw away JJ to a 3-bet, unless I'm against really crazy players. I would love to know what UTG+2 had that he was 3 betting and folding that flop. I guess he mistakenly thought it was good to fold an inside straight or maybe he had 99 or 88. Given the action and the pot size, I think you are stuck with betting to try to get folders, but I don't think you missed a bet on the river. I think the bet on the turn afforded you a free showdown, but I think you were behind the whole way, and scared them with your cold cap.
