Default Was this a bad call? Guy is sitting in lobby yelling at me and my call

What do you think about this call? I actually raised to single him. I figured I had a 35% chance of catching the nut flush, and a 14% chance of hitting and A or 7 plus a 15% chance he was totally bluffing.. The guy is still in the lobby yelling at me. I told him I'd post the hand.

You're probably a slight favorite on the flop, and I like your flop play.

But I'd fold preflop.

The funny thing is 99% of the time I dont' play those hands UTG. I think I was just mixing it up since the table was so tight and I figured id get away w/ limping

Seems fine. You are a slight favorite if he has something like K8 and with his overbet he has a pretty high chance of semi-bluffing himself in which case you are a big favorite. And with the 250 in the pot to start with it's impossible for you to be too far wrong here.

If I have that hand and get that flop, I'd try my hardest to get all my chips in.

Turn off your chat and dont worry about sore idiots criticising your play. The preflop limp was a little loose but postflop, you have a pair and probably 14 outs if he had a bigger pair.

Even if you somehow think the only hands he'll play here this way are sets, 2 pair, and top pair top kicker, and over pairs you will win 46.33% of the time against that range. Your pot odds of risking 1385 to win a final pot of 3030 if he calls are 45.7%. So even against that range you are a winner.

If we add top pair J+ kickers as well as OESD to the range you become a 56.09%. Throw in some worse middle pairs and lower flush draws and bluffs all of which you are totally dominating and this is such an easy play.

In general, if you even flop 4-to the nut flush with a pair you should be all-in (or as much chips from your opponents as you can get) all the time in a STT. The number of times you should fold that on the flop is roughly the same as the number of times you should fold AA pre-flop.

if i played this hand UTG, with this many people left, at this level, and got this flop, I would play for all my money, no question about it. But i would never play this hand UTG, at this level, with this many people left.
