Hi Tame,

You ought to reraise more pre-flop, in general. Re-raises after someone has opened, or raises after limpers should start from the point of a pot-sized raise, and then adjusted from there. So, in this case, he makes it 8, there's 6 bucks in blind money, and your "call" would be another 8, so your baseline raise should be to 30 total. From there, I'd generally go up a little, because folks are usually willing to at least call a sizeable amount after they've raised, and you want to do what you can to minimize the implied odds from a small pair trying to flop a set. Also, a bigger raise makes it easier to get in soon afterward.

On the flop, your bet was good, and you'll have to "play poker" if you get raised, though it will be very hard to get away from the hand when 2/4 donkeys may play any overpair like it's the nuts.

hi cero,

no reads. player ahead of you calls flop overbet and checks to you on a blank turn, your default action(s)?

on the flip side, if you are one of the cold callers pf what is your most effective stacking method when you hit set to stack the op?

raise it more on flop. Maybe mini-raiser repops it, or more likely, another player steps in to resteal.

With position I'd call this re-raise with about a third of my hands. From the blinds maybe a fifth.
