Default Check or bet flop?

.10/.20 NLHE
Hero is in third position with AJs
Hero raises to $1.00 (5xbb) and gets two callers (BB and UTG)

Flop: AJ3 rainbow ($3.10)
Hero bets $1.50
BB and UTG fold

With top two and a harmless board do I still go ahead with the continuation bet or check behind and give the two a free card? I had been playing fairly tight (22% fs) and had a deep stack as did the others (100bb's + for all). Sorry can't convert hand.

full table?

yes, bet the flop. sometimes people don't have a hand and fold. top 2, especially broadways, isn't a good hand to slowplay.

Bet. If it checks around you're going to be very unhappy if another Broadway drops.

I'd bet the flop too, if you do it with your made hands as well with your missed hands you're going to be very hard to read.

Everyone else is right that another broadway card really is gonna suck as well. Pot it.

Of course you should bet, but make it $2 - $3.

What's the purpose of betting about 1/2 pot here?

I usually just bet the pot here. I can't stand 2-pair. While no major flush draws on the board, you can definitely expect some straight draws, especially with a face card coming on the turn.

Question for others:

How do you play a raise on the flop here? Call? Push?

I bet 1/2 the pot for these reasons:
1. It's my standard continuation bet that I would make at this pot had I missed completely.
2. It gives someone with a gutshot bad odds yet not so large that they may contemplate a call. If they call according to FTOP I win.

To answer your question....If one of my opponents move in on me I would call. I would be reraised with AA preflop most all of the time. I could only put the player in the blind on JJ not the EP caller as it is unlikely someone would limp with JJ from EP and the two times I have seen it was done as a limp reraise from an opponent trying to represent aces, I was not reraised preflop. 33 is the most dangerous hand for me here and both players are capable of having this hand. If they have 33 then I will most likely lose a nice chunk of change anyway. If someone moves in on my raise I would have to assume AK, AQ, AJ, AT, A3, or 33. I beat all but one of those combinations so I call if they move in and hope that 33 is not in someone's hand.

Mike
