Flopped bottom two in PLO8 tourney

I have around 950, BB has around 500, preflop raiser about 1200. Blinds 15-30.

After one limper, I limp with

A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Next guy raises to 60, the BB, limper and I call. The flop is 942 rainbow. The BB leads for the pot, and the limper folds. Your action?

Pretty easy fold. Your low draw is terrible, and you'd hate to be in a big pot against A35x or even AA42 (worst case scenarios of course).

Ask yourself, "If I call the flop what kind of card do I want to see on the turn and what don't I want to see." About the only ones you're halfway happy to see are a 4 or a 2.

Thanks guys. Just checking. In the actual hand, I folded, the preflop raiser folded, and the BB won the pot.

you have two moves here.

raise the pot and pray, or muck.

on the flop, you might have the best high hand, but there is not a single card other than a 4 or a 2 that can come on the turn to make you a solid favorite.

if he doesnt fold here, you're going to get half the pot at best.

I'd estimate that I have the best high hand at the moment at about 97%. If I raised the pot and got it heads up, there are plenty of cards that would be okay to see. He would probably have a low draw and a straight draw, with no big cards, so 2,4, T-K are all okay. Obviously any A, 3, 5, (maybe 6 also) or 9 would really really suck, and that's why folding is imminent, but it's not like EVERY card sucks.

Having "the best high hand" at the moment is completely irrelevant. It's having the best high hand at the river, and your hand, at the river, does not have "i'm gonna be the best, pick me coach!" written all over it. It's an easy fold.
