Board pairs the river
A couple of questions here, hows my turn thinking and am i good 1 in 7 here, with both the flush draw hitting on the turn and the board pairing on the river.
Empire poker 5/10 5 handed I raise Jh Js UTG and am called by both blinds. Flop 3d 9h 2h check, check, i bet, sb c/r, fold, i 3-bet, sb calls. Turn 4h check, i check I would have bet here had i not had the Jh. river 9s bet, call. |

Re: Board pairs the river
Checking the turn is a huge mistake. Bet the turn, bet the river.

Could you explain why? [/ QUOTE ] because you will get eaten alive if you check with a hand as strong as Jacks every time a draw completes on the turn. |

Could you explain why? [/ QUOTE ] 1) Value, u have the best hand here much more often than not, 2) U have a made hand that is usually good but vulnerable. Giving a free card to A,Q,K or a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] is terrible. |

Could you explain why? [/ QUOTE ] He may take his free 2 cards and check/fold the river. |

Re: Board pairs the river
Also, your pair is too vulnerable to overcards, and if you make your flush, you probably won't get much action on it if you're ahead.
