Turn: (3.50 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (5.50 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB checks.

Final Pot: 5.50 BB

Villian is a 40/12/3.2, I've seen him bluff the flop a few times now 2-3 handed. Likes to play 'pookah' and bully a bit. Right place to step in? Did I play it ok?

the pot is 3 sb, you don't have good equity if ahead, and have almost no outs if behind, and you're against someone who seems loose and unpredictable. i just let this one go.

Honestly I think betting out is better than checking here. You say he's "a bit" of a bully. Is he going to be raising you here in this tiny pot with a worse hand very often? On the other hand if you check you give him free license to take initiative in the hand. It's a tough decision. Maybe checking and folding is best. But given your flop decision I think I would probably just give up on this turn card, obviously it's an awful one for you and he did call your flop raise on this board which should indicate that he either had you beat or has you beat, right?

I thought about betting the flop, but I wanted to see what UTG was doing. If he called, I was folding.

But I agree, betting is probably better if I want this guy to stop bugging me. I picked up extra outs on the turn, so I thought it was worth a bet for folding equity.

how does this river card change your hand at all, in fact, that is a fairly solid river card. THe real question is, if we are ahead, will he call us often enough with no pair to make this worth it, and if he has a 6, will he fold enough to make a bet on this river worth it
