Top 2 on 3 flush board
No reads, this is my first hand. I normally play 6max but I'm screwing around trying to hit the BBJ while my GF is watching survivor.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed) fourthnut.com Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (5 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets, Hero calls, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds. Turn: (4 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets, Hero folds, MP1 calls. River: (6 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, MP1 calls. Final Pot: 8 BB I had planned to raise any non-heart turn. Is this standard or FPS? thanks |

Re: Top 2 on 3 flush board
I would raise the flop. Even though a big heart isn't going away for 2 small bets, there are only 3 players behind you. You likely have the best hand right now, and a small heart may not be able to call you, fearing he's drawing dead.
Raising the flop changes the play of the hand. Does the SB call or cap? Does he lead the heart turn? Once I've raised the flop, I'm probably peeling the turn for my boat outs, unless someone cold calls my flop raise and then a heart hits and the SB leads into me. It's too likely that you could get trapped for multiple bets on the turn with only 4 outs. Given that you didn't raise the flop, I'm fine with the turn fold. |

Re: Top 2 on 3 flush board
I would raise the flop. HEPFAP states that you shouldnt slowplay any made hand on a 3-flush board. Raising might get a crappy flush draw to fold, or a pair that has outs aganst you. you needto protect on the flop, not later. raise, then see what happens.
