Re: sexy on the bb?
I like a turn bet. What conditions have to be true for your line to be more profitable than a turn bet? I don't know them exactly yet, but right now my intuition tells me a turn bet is better. It doesn't seem like this will often give you extra bets and you give him a free chance to hit a gutshot or some wacky two outer.

Re: sexy on the bb?
Well, for whatever reason, I had a feeling that this guy was betting the flop on kind of a whim, without any piece of it, and that if I bet the turn he was going to fold. Also, it didn't seem likely to me that he would have a draw. But I thought that checking the turn might induce a river bet.

Re: sexy on the bb?
I raise this preflop and bet flop.
In your case I'd just bet the turn. There's no certainty he's gonna bet river if you check turn behind. |

Re: sexy on the bb?
I like. HU betting the flop and checking the turn in early position is almost always a weak hand taking a stab and now ready to fold. Because of the small pot size, the likelyhood he will improve but not to something better, the likelyhood he will bluff on the river because of your weakness all makes this a good check IMO.

Re: sexy on the bb?
I just bet the turn and hope he calls with A high. You're in an awkward position on the river if he 3-bets when you've got a bottom twopair.

Re: sexy on the bb?
Just bet the turn. I think this is FPS. A lot of bad players are going to call you with a whole lot of goofy draws that they're just going to check/fold on the river. You make another bet when they have a pair or are drawing and make a pair on the river. Maybe even get called down by A or K-high.
If you check through and he bluffs the river, sure you win another bet when he's on air, but more often than not you're just missing tons of value. And its not sexy. |

What was the plan on the turn if a blank fell and he led again?

[/ QUOTE ] Is it at least mildly attractive? The thing is this board didn't seem very drawy to me. In fact, it it was a strong draw, I'd expect the villain to c/r the flop instead. To answer the others, had villain led the turn, I'd have raised. And it didn't seem awkward to me had he called and led the river. I'm sure such a play would not mean 2 pair, because this guy would have kept betting with a pair on the turn. The only way I could see a river helping me - after he checked the turn - is if it somehow made a straight, which seemed pretty doubtful. |
