Default Straight outta TOPton

Villain is 25/8/3. My plan is fold to a 3-bet or get a free showdown. Thoughts?

I don't think CO has a J, he woould probably have raised the flop or check/raised the turn. I smell something like 99 here and I feel like we have to improve our hand in order to win at showdown.

Do you we have a good enough read on the CO that says he may fold a pair below Js to a turn raise?? If we don't, I don't like turn raise.

I like it. He bets the turn b/c the 2nd J makes it less likely you have it. You're raise will definitely slow him down if he doesn't fold.

It will certainly slow him down if he doesn't have a J, but is AK the best, and if it's not, will he fold an inferior hand.

..and if it is best, why do we want to slow him down anyways?

I would like it better in this case as well, however I still like it. I think a donk bet here is usually bs and if not you're going to fold drawing dead to a 3bet. I think an unknown folds a 4 often here, not to mention that they may fold whatever random 6 outer which is a mistake for them. If not you check behind and YHIG.

That seems kinda rambling; sorry i'm tired.

I thought h would raise the flop with a J, or at least c/r me with trips. He is not raising pf with a 4. His open raise after 6 folds widens his range. I thought this was a big semi-bluff, and the best way to counter a semi-bluff according to sklansky is with a raise. So thats what I did. Does everyone see why?

If he's on a random hand that has 6 outs, you want to make him incorrectly fold.

I like the line and all...but it feels like the type of hand where villian donks again on the river.
