I met a Cardplayer mag employee!
I'm tailgating at the ULL (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) game. A buddy of mine is next door and waves me over. Now, buddy knows I play poker alot. I walk over and he introduces me to Lars SomethingGaard who says he works for Cardplayer magazine. He hands me the "College Edition" of Cardplayer (about 5 pages thin) and we begin to chat about poker.
I realize instantly that he knows NOTHING about the game. He's basically a grad student from Sweden hired by Cradplayer to hand out this cheap mag around campus. I asked him what he played and he told me NL...$20 buy in! He started quizing me about online playing, and then commented that online was, "Too fast" for him. I found the whole incident amusing and just wanted to share. |

Re: I met a Cardplayer mag employee!
I had a good friend who worked for Ziff Davis Publishing (a lot of big name specialty magazines). She worked for Backpacker Magazine department. I found out a lot of the people who wrote articles were not very avid or accomplished backpackers. They would do some research and write an article. They wrote good, though.
