yeah i don't think this works well for either side of the value bluff.

heh. I think I just used value bluff as an excuse when what I really meant was, "For some reason I felt like betting and I dont know why."

But I think he usually donks it if it hit him. Assuming he doesnt have one, doesnt it then become a terrible card for him?

even if the Q is a terrible card for him, it's still probably not making him fold anything. the pot is big.
