Big Slick play
Hi, I was playing in a 888.com tournament multi-table final, 400 entrants to win a place at the UK open. I had a nice stack early on, but after a while was stuck around the same position whilst others were building and leaving me behind.
Hero has A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Hero raises, villain calls Flop: K-6-7 rainbow Hero bets, all in, hoping to double up - top pair and Ace kicker Villain calls Heads up he had K7o. He won it with two pair. Did I play this correctly? Should I have been less hasty? |

Re: Big Slick play
A few comments:
1. Much easier to comment if you give stack sizes, blinds, and size of raises. 2. Your all-in bet was probably bad because he's unlikely to call with anything worse than what you've got. A pot sized bet on the flop would be much more likely to get called by hands like KQ or middle pairs. |

Re: Big Slick play
We need to know stack sizes, and blind levels in order to properly dissect this hand.

Re: Big Slick play
Blinds were around 75/150, I had about 1.5k and he had about 5-6k. I'd noticed that he was playing pretty loose early on too.
My raise was the minimum raise b.t.w.. Thanks for any replies! I guess finding out about your mistakes is the best way to learn! |

Re: Big Slick play
OK thanks, is the reasoning that the other guy would either muck it or approach my bet on the flop with more caution?
My thinking was that if I made minimum bet I'd keep someone in to get more action if I flopped a monster. Thanks for the advice, I haven't been playing long, so any comments are a big help. |
