Default no experience needed

This morning, President Bush nominated Harriet Miers to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court. Miers is a long-time political appointee, campaign counsel, personal lawyer and Bush loyalist who has never served as a judge.

In the poker game of politics the dealer is in on the fleecing

Not discounting cronyism, but Rehnquist was never a judge either.

I believe something like 19 or so were never judges.

This is an empty arguement. Plenty of Supreme Court justices weren't judges before their appointment.

Many liberal liked the service of Earl Warren. Warren had not only not been a judge, he had spent most of his career in elective office rather than practicing law. And, Warren wasn't just appointed as a justice, he was immediately made Chief Justice.
