Poker In Florida
I am aware of the laws that limit betting to 2 dollars in cach games. I was more interested in how often they have single table tournys? Do the crazy live game laws push many people to the single table tourneys?

[/ QUOTE ] The last time I was down there (which was more than a year ago, so things may have changed), the "tournaments" were limited to 40 total dealt hands. Basically it becomes an allinfest on the last 3 hands. In other words, for the best poker in Florida see your local DSL provider. SOme of the cruise ships have decent poker as well, and a few of them have tournaments on the weekends. |

Re: Poker In Florida
I would say yes. The Seminole Hard Rock in Tampa just instituted $100+$20, $200+$25, $500+35 and $1000+50 SNGs, and ring game lists have shortened considerably. The blind structure takes a lot of the skill out, and the juice is a little high for the $120, but they're still wildly popular.

Yes, the juice is really high for the one-table tournaments, but the terrible play might be enough to make up for it. So far I've played five of the mid-level ones (225 and 535) and I've cashed in four of them just by folding to the bubble.

Re: Poker In Florida
Some of the tracks and frontons have started single tables. Derby Lane in St. Petersburg has them. $45 buy-in, pays top two. 1st gets $270 and 2nd gets $70.
Yep, $34+11. |

Maybe they got some sort of amendment pushed through or something, but these things started down here just within the past year. Seminole Hard Rock here in South Florida has a $35+$10. I've played this one five times, just folded into the money three of the five times, then was able to pull off a first and a second when I started playing some hands once I got into the money. You get 1500 chips, blinds start at 50/100 and double every 10 minutes. It's a doozy. |
